[#132] Same Ask. Different Outcome.

Bullet 132

Issue 132, Part Time CEO Newsletter

Hey, it's Dhiren 👋,

A beggar and a king walk into the same temple.

Both ask for something.

But only one expects to receive it.

That line hit me like a lightning bolt when I heard it from a Guru

Because most founders?

They ask like beggars.

Not because they don’t want big things

But because deep down, they’re not sure they deserve them.

🧠 Bullet One: Most Founders Ask Like Beggars

When you ask like a beggar, here’s what it sounds like:

  • “I know it’s a big ask, but…”
  • “Would you be okay if…”
  • “Totally fine if not, just thought I’d check…”

It’s hesitant. Apologetic.

It reeks of unworthiness.

Founders do this all the time:

-- Pricing their offer with a question mark instead of a period.

-- Delegating but then double-checking everything.

-- Saying yes to bad-fit clients because they’re scared to say no.

That energy tells the world: I don’t really believe I deserve this.

And the world responds in kind.

🧠 Bullet Two: Ask Like a King

The king’s ask is simple. Clean. Clear.

No fluff. No fuss. No second-guessing.

He doesn’t beg. He states.

Not out of ego—but out of clarity.

That’s the shift.

When you ask like a king, people listen differently.

Try this instead:

  • “Here’s how we work.”
  • “This is the investment.”
  • “I need your full focus on this by Friday.”
  • “No, that’s not a fit for us right now.”

This isn’t about domination.

It’s about energy.

Confidence gets results. Timidity gets delays.

Your Turn

This week, ask for what you want like you already deserve it.

Because you probably do.

Where do you need to raise your ask?

Price? Boundaries? Expectations?

Pick one.

Ask like a king.

💬 Know an entrepreneur who needs to hear this?

Forward this to them. One insight can change how they sell forever.

This month, I’m hosting the next cohort of Entrepreneur Basecamp, a 3-day strategy sprint for creative founders who are tired of playing small.

We’ll work through your niche, value proposition, and product strategy.

So you stop begging for attention and start commanding it.

It’s designed to get you asking like a king (and building like one, too).

If you’ve been quietly waiting for permission—this is your sign.

Spots are limited. Ask boldly. Next cohort: April 16th, 2025.

Reply to this email and I’ll send you the details..

📌 Dhiren’s Pick of the Week

🗯️ Thought for the week

When you ask like a king, you’re not hoping to be chosen.
You’re choosing yourself first.”.

Stick that one on your whiteboard this week
